We are looking for a native Portuguese speaking and ambitious individual to join our team as a Coordinator for Community Engagement. The main tasks of the position are, to function as a link between turtle conservation and the needs of the local people of Boa Vista and to implement a cooperative community engagement-plan of the NGO’s who are involved in sea turtle conservation on Boa Vista Island.

We are looking for ambitious individuals who will be responsible for the supervision of the sea turtle conservation work at one of our conservation camp sites on Boavista, Cape Verde. The duration of the job is from 1 June until 31 October 2020. Language skills in Portuguese and English are required. Previous expertise in turtle conservation is mandatory. Field coordinators will be working together with camp coordinators in teams of two and be responsible for managing all aspects of field work carried out on the beach, including scheduling patrols, census, and hatchery, data collection and data entry, training and supervising of rangers and volunteers, etc. The camp and field coordinator team will work under the supervision of the project managers. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team in Boa Vista, Cape Verde, as a Scientific Manager. In this critical role, you will lead the implementation of field work necessary for our sea turtle conservation mission, including nest monitoring, beach surveys and hatchery management. A primary responsibility will be collecting, managing, and analysing essential data from all project sites on Boa Vista, reporting directly to the Executive Director of Fundação Tartaruga.
