Sangalaki Island

The beautiful small island of Sangalaki is located in the Sea of Celebes, east of Borneo on Indonesian territory. It takes a mere 30 minutes to walk around this island.

Sangalaki truly is a diver's paradise. It is well known for the Black Manta Rays and the turtles which are abundant both above and beneath the water.

As the sun sets turtles drag themselves across the sandy beach to build nests and lay eggs in many hours of hard work. Sangalaki is one of the few places where turtles come ashore for nesting every night all year round.
